What to Expect
When coming to worship, please come as you are. Our typical style of dress is business casual, though you will find that members of the congregation come dressed in a variety of ways. Our invitation to you is to come and join us for worship and fellowship.
Our style of worship is a blended traditional service. For us, that means that we worship with music from the piano and/or organ, a liturgist, and preaching from our pastoral leadership. We make use of both bulletins and PowerPoint as we participate together in worship. We worship in the United Methodist tradition and our weekly worship includes congregational singing of hymns, time for prayer and sharing of joys and concerns, preaching, and opportunities for fellowship. We celebrate Holy Communion once each month, typically on the first Sunday. In the United Methodist tradition, the communion table is open to all who seek a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and you do not need to be a member of St. James or of any church to participate.
If you have other questions about what to expect about your visit to St. James UMC, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our pastor, Rev. Bill Busch by calling the church office at (262) 642-7642, or email at church@easttroyumc.org

Children & Worship
The congregation invites all children to remain in worship with their parents during the service. We view worship as an important part of our faith and invite all people, even and especially wiggling children to be a part of our time together. We want you to feel comfortable in worship with us! If you feel the need to take your child out of the service, the Faith Room is located outside of the Sanctuary and has toys and space for you to be with your child. In the back of the sanctuary there are activity trays with children’s bulletins, if you need help locating them, please ask an usher.
