Worship Schedule

G.A.S. (God and Soul) Wednesday Evenings 6:30 p.m.
Blended Traditional Service Sunday Morning at 9:00 a.m. *

*Nursery provided by an adult Certified Childcare provider

*Sunday School for all ages from September through May following worship

*St. James United Methodist Church of East Troy now offers a new Kids' Korner in it's sanctuary.  Although the church has a fully staffed nursery during worship services, some parents expressed a desire to keep their children with them during services.  So several members of the church set up an area in the sanctuary to accommodate the need.  A rocking chair is available as well as play table with numerous soft toys and puzzles with a Christian theme.  For safety reasons, all items in Kids Korner are washed or wiped down and sanitized between each use.  The Wednesday service has a different set of items than the Sunday service due to health and safety concerns.  The Korner has already been frequently used and further expansion will be considered if necessary.

What is a God and Soul service?

Our Wednesday night service is filled with the Spirit and technology.
We praise God with our songs, media ministry, presence, and worship. We worship with and for the people of God - believing in the power of a faith community and how it helps each one of us on our earthly journey.

And we pray - for one another, for our communities, and for our world.

But most importantly, we listen to the promise of God through scripture and try to apply its message and lesson to our lives - as individuals and as a community of faith.

ECUMENICAL WEDNESDAY NIGHT WORSHIP SERVICES:  Our tradition continues as we join other area churches to worship on Wednesday’s during the Lenten season.   Please note that the regular Wednesday night worship services at St. James will not be offered during Lent, but will resume after Easter. (Please see the Ecumenical Schedule under "news & events.")

ST. JAMES LENTEN THEME:  “One Month to Live”:  Lent is a season of self reflection and introspection; a chance to walk closer with Christ.  So we are asking a hard question – if you only had 1 month to live – would you continue to live the way you are OR would you change things???  If the answer is you would change things – then why not use this Lenten season to begin moving closer to how you want to live – how we are called to live.  We are going to examine this theme and be challenged by it – weekly with our Sunday worship services and Bible study.  Please join us.

What is a Blended Traditional Service?

We worship utilizing many traditional prayers and hymns. During the school year, we are blessed with music from our chancel choir. During the summer months, we are blessed with special music from individuals, small groups and our summer singers.

If you've been to a worship service in other churches, many of the elements you find in our Sunday service will feel familiar. However, we also blend some newer concepts into our service. Elements like a Time for God's Children, where a message, specifically designed for children, is given, to those that want to join the pastor up by the altar for the message.

We also have the blessing of technology within our service. We project all the prayers and song lyrics and sometimes use video clips and other forms of media to enhance our worship.

The first Sunday of every month we offer communion - where everyone is welcome to partake in the sacrament.

We hope and pray that you will come join us for worship - anytime. All people are welcome!
